Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH)
29 January 2004
Distribution of blankets
On 21 January, around 130 women from the H2 area in Hebron met in the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions. The occasion for the gathering was that the TIPH was distributing blankets to the needy now that the winter is approaching.
The head of the women affairs held a speech about the project and she also expressed her gratefulness to the TIPH for their support. After the initial speech, the TIPH Community Relations Officer held a speech in which he spoke briefly about the mandate and the tasks of the TIPH.
After the speeches, each family was given a large blanket, which was bought in Hebron, and a brochure an Arabic about the work of the TIPH. The situation in the city was calm on this day, and there were no military activities or curfew hindering the distribution of the blankets.
