7. Mr. ALAEI (Observer for the Islamic Republic of Iran), speaking in exercise of the right of reply, said that the reason for instability in the Middle East was not the military action taken by Hezbollah but Israel’s occupation of Palestine since 1948. Until that occupation ended, the Palestinian people would have the right to resist. /... 9. Mr. ABU-KOASH (Observer for Palestine), speaking in exercise of the right of reply, pointed out that the British Government had described the Zionist invaders of Palestine as terrorists. If the Israeli occupiers wished to avoid conflict, they should first release the prisoners they were holding. With three quarters of their homeland under Israeli occupation, Palestinians wished to live peacefully in the remaining quarter. The Palestinians were entitled to speak out about Israeli human rights violations in the hope that the Council would put an end to them.
