MFA Statement on the Middle East Peace Process
05.10.2013 / 11:18

The Czech Republic fully supports the efforts of the international community to find a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through direct negotiations.

Both within the European Union and in its bilateral relations with both sides the Czech Republic repeatedly and consistently called for direct peace negotiations as the only possible means to address all final status issues.

The Czech Republic in accordance with EU supports the two-state solution as the only possible way how Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in peace and security. We therefore strongly welcomed a recent resumption of the direct peace talks.

We firmly believe that through the direct peace negotiations the parties will come to an agreement on all disputable issues, including security, borders, Palestinian refugees and the status of Jerusalem.

The Czech Republic will continue to cooperate within the EU and the international community to find and promote a peaceful two-state solution.
