This biased mandate, in effect, allows the Special Rapporteur to create a distorted image, using an intentionally selective perspective, without permitting him to examine fundamental aspects of the entire context of the situation, such as Palestinian violations towards Israel. This stands in marked contrast to the Council’s stated principles of objectivity, impartiality and non-selectivity, as embodied in the constitutive resolution establishing the Human Rights Council.
Since 2000, Israel has consistently sent official letters of protest to the UN Secretary-General, the Security Council and the chairman of the General Assembly each and every time Israel was targeted by terrorist attacks. This documentation is part and parcel of any objective consideration aimed at a fair and balanced analysis of the situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. I am attaching, for your perusal, this exhaustive list.
I would appreciate, Mr. President, if my letter and the document attached therein** would be circulated to all member states of the Human Rights Council.
