AD HOC COMMITTEE ON THE PALESTINIAN
SUBCOMMITTEE I

RECONVENING IN PUBLIC, THE SUBCOMMITTEE THIS EVENING CONTINUED DISCUSSION OF THE REVISED REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE WORKING GROUP ON BOUNDARIES.

THE SUBCOMMITTEE FIRST TOOK UP POINT II OF THE REPORT WHICH INVOLVES A JEWISH CLAIM FOR THE INCLUSION IN THE JEWISH STATE OF AN UNINHABITED AREA ALONG THE SHORES OF THE DEAD SEA WHICH WOULD EXTENSION OF THAT PART OF THE PALESTINE POTASH WORKS ASSIGNED TO THE JEWISH STATE ON THE SOUTHERN SHORES OF THE DEAD SEA.

THE POINT WAS ADOPTED.

THE SUBCOMMITTEE SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK UP POINT SEVEN (B) WHICH INVOLVES A JEWISH CLAIM FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE HAIFA BAY SO AS TO INCLUDE IN THE JEWISH STATE LAND ALREADY SETTLED, LAND REQUIRED FOR THE EXTENSION OF INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES AND A WATER SOURCE WHICH COULD BE OF USE FOR INDUSTRIAL PURPOSES.

POINT THREE WAS ADOPTED.

THE SUBCOMMITTEE SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK UP POINT SEVEN (B) WHICH INVOLVE A JEWISH CLAIM FOR THE INCLUSION IN THE JEWISH STATE OF A PREDOMINANTLY ARAB AREA WITH AN ARAB POPULATION OF ABOUT 3,000.

THE SUBCOMMITTEE GAVE PARTIAL SATISFACTION TO THE JEWISH CLAIM FOR BY PUTTING INTO THE JEWISH STATE THE AIRPORT OF LYDDA WHICH THE UNSCOP PARTITION PLAN LEFT IN THE ARAB STATE.

THE SUBCOMMITTEE ROSE AT 11:35 PM AND WILL RECONVENE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, 12 NOVEMBER, AT 10.30 AM
