Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), expresses his sincere congratulations to the Palestinian people and the leadership of PNA
 
Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), expresses his sincere congratulations to the Palestinian people and the leadership of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on the success of their elections for the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), which have been conducted in a democratic, civilized, and calm climate.
 
The Secretary-General urges the Palestinian people and Palestinian factions to complete the transfer of power with the same political maturity and civilized, peaceful spirit. For the sake of protecting the interests of the Palestinian people, he urges them to respect political pluralism and calls on Hamas to adopt a realistic approach in dealing with international political variables in order to safeguard the Palestinian people’s rights and acquired gains.
 
The Secretary-General exhorts the international community to respect the results of the elections, which reflect the democratic choice of the Palestinian people, without preconceived ideas and to continue to support the peace process in order to enable them to gain liberation and establish their independent Palestinian State with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.
