OIC Secretary-General strongly condemns intrusion into Al-Aqsa and distortion of walls of a monastery in Al-Quds

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, strongly condemned the intrusion by Israeli extremists into the precincts of the blessed Aqsa Mosque, where they practiced Talmudic rituals. They also wrote racist slogans on the walls of the Franciscan monastery in Al-Quds. He considered that such attacks are directed against Islamic and Christian shrines as part of a systematic settlement policy of extremist groups against Palestinians , their property and their holy places, and that they are being implemented under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Secretary-General described the attacks as organized terrorism practiced by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people and their sanctities and property, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the consequences of the continuation of such serious assaults, which constitute a serious violation of international resolutions and conventions.

The Secretary-General called the UN Security Council, UNESCO and the international community to take action to put an end to these violations and provide protection for the sacred shrines, and to prevent the recurrence of such Israeli crimes that fuel violence and tension in the region.
